Thrikkaipetta Bamboo Village is a quiet rural settlement situated 12 KM away from the main town Kalpetta, Wayanad district of Kerala where bamboo craftsmanship, farming, and slow village life continue as living traditions. Surrounded by paddy fields, spice plantations, and gentle streams, the village reflects a deep relationship between people, land, and sustainable practices. Bamboo is central to local architecture, daily life, and artisanal work, shaping both homes and livelihoods. Visitors experience an unhurried rhythm of life rooted in nature, creativity, and community. The village offers a rare opportunity to engage with authentic rural culture while staying close to the landscape that sustains it.

Rose Garden

Rose Garden Homestay offers a deeply calming stay where the house is nestled within a flourishing garden of flowers and greenery in Thrikkaipatta Bamboo Village, Meppadi, in Wayanad, Kerala. The two-storey house provides a comfortable stay with three guest rooms and is recognised as the first homestay established in the village, welcoming travellers for over 18 years. The experience here is about slowing down, wandering through blooms, and spending time in nature’s quiet presence. Guests are encouraged to reconnect with simple pleasures like morning walks, reading, and reflection.

Meppadi (v.i.a), Wayanad

The garden is not just a backdrop but an integral part of daily life at the homestay. Food is an essential part of the stay, with most ingredients sourced from the garden and meals prepared in authentic Kerala style, offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that are flavourful and home-cooked. Breakfast is included in the stay, while lunch and dinner are available at an additional charge.

At the heart of the stay are the hosts - Mary, a passionate cook, gardener and member of a women-led village pickle entrepreneurship unit who loves experimenting with flavours and Eldho, an ex-military professional now working in the telecom service - who together offer guests a warm, grounded experience rooted in everyday village life.

Daniel’s Homestay

Daniel Homestay is a thoughtfully designed eco-home in Thrikkaipatta Bamboo Village, Meppadi, in Wayanad, Kerala. It is one of the first to be built using bamboo and ferrocement technology, shaped by sustainable architectural character. The two-storey house offers a comfortable stay with two guest rooms, each with an attached washroom, and is surrounded by a gently flowing stream, rubber plantation, and open fields. Set within a living spice plantation, the homestay provides hands-on experiences to explore spices, along with a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables grown at their source.

Thrikkaipetta, Meppadi, Wayanad

The house places strong importance on art, culture featuring carefully displayed works by local village artisans in and around the property & spaces to relax for yoga & reading. Meals are prepared using organic ingredients from the plantation and garden, offering authentic Kerala vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine, with breakfast included and lunch and dinner available at an additional charge allowing guests to enjoy fresh, local cuisine at their own pace.

At the heart of the experience are the hosts - Daniel, a photographer and farmer, and Reena, an Anganwadi teacher - whose family has lived in the village for over 70 years and who have been welcoming travellers for 18 years. Actively involved in shaping Thrikkaipetta into a sustainable, community-led model village, they invite guests to listen to the stories that have shaped the place and its people across generations & to experience a farming life.

Kochupurakkal Home Stay

Kochupurakkal Homestay invites guests into an authentic farm-based experience surrounded by spice plantations and open countryside in Thrikkaipatta Bamboo Village, Meppadi, in Wayanad, Kerala. The two-storey house offers a comfortable stay with three guest rooms, each with an attached washroom. With sweeping views of Manikkunnu hill and lush paddy fields, the homestay offers a strong sense of place and landscape. Guests can walk freely across the farmland, observing and experiencing agricultural life at their own pace.
